The local population around NTH is about 3-5000 and most of the people living here are poor and Afghan refugees who have depression and post traumatic stress, the department of Psychiatry reassures the patients and give them a support and treatment to recover from mental illness.

The Department of Psychiatry provides comprehensive psychiatric services to all age groups at Nasir Bagh area. Psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists and clinical nurse specialists offer a range of inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents, adults and the elderly.
